Counter and café

Seat time and snacks. One bill.

Sell from the counter, run café tables, both landing on the same session the customer already has open. Kitchen printing is its own add-on.

The counter and the café are one business.

A cold drink, a plate of momos and two hours on a PC are one visit — so they are one bill, settled once on the way out.

  • Sell at the counter, on a table, or onto a session
  • Counter stock comes down the moment something sells
  • Full stock movement history — restocks, transfers, sales, waste
  • Tables stay open until the customer actually leaves

Products and café are two different things.

A can of cola is stock — you buy it, it sits on a shelf, it runs out. A plate of fries is made to order and never runs out in the same way. PlayVerse keeps them apart because they behave differently, and sells them as two separate add-ons so a venue with a fridge but no kitchen pays for one.

  • Products carry stock; café items do not
  • Products need not be edible — controllers, gloves, cables all count
  • Café items are made to order, so there is nothing to count down
  • Either can go onto a session, a table, or straight over the counter
The products catalogue showing each item with its counter stock and backroom stock.

Stock in two places, because that is where it actually is.

What is on the counter is not what is in the backroom. PlayVerse counts both, and moving a case forward is a transfer rather than a fresh entry — so the total never quietly doubles.

How stock moves

Backroom
Where a delivery lands when it arrives
Counter
What is actually in front of staff to sell
Transfer
Moving stock forward decrements one and increments the other
Running low
Flagged before it runs out, not after
Empty
Marked out of stock so it cannot be sold by mistake

Sell it three ways, from one catalogue.

A walk-in wants a cold drink and leaves. A table orders fries. A group mid-session wants both without getting up. Same items, same stock, three routes to the bill.

  • Straight over the counter for a walk-in or takeaway
  • Onto a café table that stays open until they leave
  • Onto a running gaming session, settled with the session
  • Whatever the route, it lands in the day’s figures under its own category

Pay however the customer wants to pay.

Cash, UPI, split, or a member tab. The split is recorded rather than rounded away, which is what makes the shift-end count reconcile.

  • Cash, UPI, split, or a member tab
  • A discount needs a reason, and the reason is kept
  • Every sale lands in the day’s figures under its own category
